Carla D. Martin teaches the interestingly named course "Chocolate, Culture, and the Politics of Food," which is offered at Harvard Extension School this spring.

What would happen if conditions for cacao farming were improved? That's the question that Martin is trying to answer. The magazine "mental_floss" has recognized her with a 2015 Platypus Award, which "honor[s] ideas that draw from disparate fields to form something worthy of a double take."
